Our God is a true living being. His name is found in the bible over 18,000 times. He is the only true God.

How do we understand that God is there?

SCIENTIFIC FACTORS: It is scientific that life can only result from another life.

THE LIFE & TEACHING OF JESUS CHRIST :
Jesus birth, death /resurrection is a great miracle, points us to the existence of God

CREATION: (Gen 1:1, Rom 1: 20 , Ps 19: 1-6)
There must be a Master builder.

B. How do we accept the existence of God?

By studying the attributes of God

C. What does that existing God expect of us?

To Worship Him (Mt 4:10, Ps 100: 1- 5)

To Obey Him (Acts 5: 29)

To Pray to Him Through His Son (Jhn 16:23,24,26,27) (Heb 4:16) (I Jhn 5:14-15)

To have no other Gods (Ex 20: 3-6)

Conclusion:

There is only one true God. Idols and gods of other religions are not really true god, you cannot serve God & idols at the same time. Satan will try to hinder you from knowing the true God.

IMPORTANCE OF QUIET TIME

This Sunday we had a wonderful message regarding the Importance of Quiet time by Sis Priya Premnath.

Sis Priya started with an illustration that in

“Our Daily life we have time for Everything , do we have a time for God??”

In the Old Testament, David, Joseph, Abraham had a Personnel Relationship with God.

Abraham was a prosperous person at that time.

When we look at David, he was just an ordinary person but God made him a King.

Daniel became a governor in a foreign Land. Daniel was a powerful person because he had a Relationship with God.

Sis Priya Premnath said that Everyone has to have a personnel Relationship with God. Many questions in life will be answered through it.

How to have a Relationship with God?

We have to set aside some of our time for God.i e Quiet Time.

Sis Priya gave an example that a lot of House wife’s set apart their time for Serials every day. When people spend such time for serials how much more time we have to spend with our Almighty God.

What is Quiet Time?

A time spend alone with God
Communicate with God because he loves with an Unconditional Love

Many times we ask and ask and Don’t hear what God is telling

A Time to know God and to grow Spiritually

When people are Happy they give praises to God. Once it is practised , they will get adapted to Praise God
We have to discipline ourself. For us sleeping late and getting up late we have No Time for God. When you Discipline yourself, it will not be a burden to you but will enjoy every moment with God.
In Bible , it is said that Abraham enjoyed in the presence of GOD.

Spending Time with God we can know more about God.

We spent time with lovers, how much should we spent with God.
To fulfil the purpose in life we need to know God.
Many Christians don’t know God because they did not spend time with God

A time spent with God to fight against Sin and the World.

What happens in QUIET TIME?

Conviction happens
Cleansing from Evil thoughts
Regenerates us
Knowledge of Good and Bad(from his commandments)

When we read the same verse in the Bible, God will give a different understanding.

In the Bible, it is said that when Moses spent 40 days and nights, his face was radiating.

When we also spent time with God, we will also radiate or illuminate for God

When we don’t give time for God, we fall back in our life.

A Spiritual life is a valley and a mountain experience.

What does it take to maintain a Quiet time?

Allocate some time and set apart a place
It needs a Sacrifice

When we maintain a Quiet Time every day, we will see blessings in our life

We should not be ashamed to spent time with God

The bible says that Jacob allocated a place to have an encounter with the Angel of God.
Daniel even when a decree was passed not to pray to the Lord Almighty and whoever prays will be thrown into lion’s den, then also Daniel spent time with God.

When you spent time with God maintain a Diary.

Don’t forget to pray in the Quiet time , because when we pray we present our petitions before God

When we spent fruitful time with God, we can bear Fruits.

Sometimes we complicate our self , but we need the basics of Quiet time in this world which is looking for peace and happiness

GOD IS RAISING A GENERATION OF APOSTLES IN THE CHURCH

This Sunday we had a guest speaker Pr Frank from Australia.

Pr Frank started the message with a scripture from the book of Ephesians.

It says that “God is sending a new light upon you i.e the church”

God is sending his light to restore the church in these days. In the days of apostles, the church had all the problems like idolatry, sexual immorality, malice, pride etc.

The heart of God is to bring the believers to spiritual maturity. God is building a church that believes that Jesus rose again. All the churches in this world belong to the Body of Christ and constitute different parts of the body of Christ

In ACTS 3:19,20,21(NIV)

it is said “Repent , then , and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,that the times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ , who has been appointed for you-even Jesus. He must remain in Heaven until the time comes for God to RESTORE EVERYTHING, as he promised long ago through his Holy prophets.”

In 1500’s, God sent Martin Luther to restore the church.

In this present generation, God is giving his gift of Prophetic anointing and raising up Apostles.

The Pastor is an ordinary person, but God gives him a special anointing ie when he preaches many people are brought to God.

When Jesus ascended into heaven, he started appointing many apostles. Today God is calling many apostles. God is giving grace to churches to release apostles to the world. The truth is that God is giving apostles to the world. Lord gives special gifts at special times.

The apostle has a God given grace to bring church to a spiritual maturity.

WHAT DOES AN APOSTLE DO?

Brings a Great relationship into the Church

In Ephesians 4:12(NIV)

it says “ it was he who gave some to be apostles,some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,to prpare God’s people for works of service , so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature.”

Brings Unity and Oneness in the church
Built new relationships – believers having fellowship with other Believers.
Accurate comprehension of the Knowledge of God
Brings completeness and intimacy ( we don’t hide our hearts)

We don’t want to offend others. Tell what the heart says

They receive a special kind of revelation from God and teach about the great Knowledge of God

The church grows on what the Holy Spirit reveals but not how many programs are conducted

When we come to God , we think of all things ie needs, then listen to God

When we pray , we make petitions before God, are we really hearing from God.

So our church needs Apostles who can receive a special revelation from God and teach about the Great Knowledge of God.

Are we living in a state of condemnation or conviction???

This Sunday we had a wonderful celebration and worship session. As we sang two new songs Majesty and let your glory fall we could experience the presence of God moving in that place...

We also had a wonderful testimony from Sister Angel how God has done a Mighty Miracle in her life.

Sister Priya Premnath preached about the differnce between Condemnation and Conviction .She started the message from an example from Sister Angel’s Testimony.When people visited sis Angel in the hospital some of them told that the iilness is due to the Sins commited by her. She encouraged herself that God has already reedemed her sins.

WHY CONDEMNATION?

Sister Priya told that here the Devil tried to condemn Sis Angel.In Bible it says that the Devil comes to steal and destroy in ways which are very Deceptive and seemingly very truthful ways.

WHY CONVICTION?

The HOLY SPIRIT CONVICTS US.

In 2 Corinthians 7:10(NIV)

It says that ”Godly sorrow brings Repentance that leads to Salvation and leaves no regret , but worldy sorrow brings death.”

The main goal of the Devil is to side track us from the purpose of God ie through CONDEMNATION .

Have you ever felt being Guilty?

Many Young people have many Guilty feelings like

Am i Worthy
Will God Ever Forgive me
Will God Accept me

When we are condemned , it to leads to Death.

Noboby is perfect other than Christ JESUS. We all have weaknesses.
Guilt is not from God. God loves and has a plan for everyone who is born in this world.
Satan puts lots of doubts in our hearts . So many Christians hide what they have recieved from God.
All of us belong to a blessed generation after the resurrectrion of Jesus Christ .

Satan tries to plant SEEDS OF DOUBT AND GUILT.

CONDEMNATION - Inconsistency of feeling- comes from the Enemy

Leads to a state of GUILT
Plants Seed of doubt that pulls us down
Feeling of unworthy ness to do the work of God
Have a doubt that God will never forgive my sins

How to transform from Condemned life to a convicted life ?

In Romans 8:1(NIV)

It says ”Therefore , there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”

Chirst Jesus came to bring from condemned state to convicted life through the Holy Spirit
Even though Satan has put a break in your life , use it to Overcome it.

In ISAIAH 40:36(NIV)

It says ” Even Youths grow tired and weary , and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength .they will soar on wings like eagles,they will run And not grow weary , they will will walk and not be Faint”

Feeling that makes you feel guilty

CONVICTION

Comes from God
Develops a very specific feeling in a particular area of our sin
Creates hope in our life
Takes us in the direction in which God wants
Holy Spirit indentifies the Impurities in our Life
Ends up in GOD’s love

When God convicts us , he will show a way for us

We are accountable for even a very small thought in our life.

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

HOLY SPIRIT

It makes you repent
When we repent, the joy of the Lord comes into our Heart.
Then It encourages you to grow in Christ.

For babies milk is required and in the similar way God Knows how to feed us

Have a SPIRIT FILLED LIFE

In old testament , Heavenly Father had a Direct Relationship with his people.So when a person is convicted he has Direct realtionship with God.

So when a person is Baptised , God forgave our PAST , PRESENT AND FUTURE Sins.
In BIBLE, it says KING DAVID was convicted and he repented.
God has a definite plan , you were not an Accident and we can understand this plan when the Holy Spirit comes into your life.

GOD has pepared a life of victory, annointing , Favour etc.
We should Pray until something happens.
Every plot of satan can be turned against it if HOLY SPIRIT is with us.

APPLYING THE DNA OF BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IN OUR LIFE

Pastor Premnath started the message with a theme that we are a people chosen by GOD.

In 1 PETER 2:9 &10 (NKJV) GOD says “ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into his marvellous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of GOD, but had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy”.

Pastor Prem said that you are a people chosen by God from nothing to something called by the Precious blood of Jesus. There is power in the blood of Jesus

In 1 Corinthians 15: 45 (NKJV) It was written “The first Adam became a living being. The Last Adam became a life giving Spirit”

LIVING SOUL – is the First Adam ( i.e. he was created with the Breath of God)

When God blew his breath of air through Adam he had DNA of God in him. The good attributes of God are flown into the DNA of Adam. The good attributes of God were

He was Holy
Knew no sin
ALMIGHTY GOD
OMNIPOTENT GOD

But something happened in the course of time. Lucifer, a fallen angel was waiting to devour the humans.

When the first man was created there was no sin in him. Adam and Eve were not satisfied with what they were and so ate the fruit of the tree of life. So sin entered the world. Adam and eve were fallen men.

So the first Humans Adam and Eve were cursed and the DNA of GOD disrupted.

In Romans 5:14 (NKJV)

It says “ Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam , who is a type of him who was to come”

LIFE GIVING SPIRIT- the second Adam( Blood of Jesus)

The curse of Adam started to prevail over the next generations.
BUT the DNA of Jesus was holy and divine. When we come to the Cross , the Blood he SHED Changes the Genetic code of our DNA and our DNA gets refreshed.
There is power in the blood of Jesus. We could be rid of our sins and his wounds became our healing.
The curse of Adam could not prevail on us because of the Blood Jesus shed on the Calvary. Jesus created history. You and us can create History because JESUS is in us.

The purpose of this new man is to give eternal life and to give a new beginning in our life

How could our DNA be changed?

If I change, everything changes. We are the mistakes for every problem in our life.
In Hebrews 9: 12( NKJV)

It says ” Not with the blood of goats and calves ,but with his own Blood he entered the Most holy place for all , having obtained Eternal Redemption”

For the power of the Blood to be activated , we have to die to our soul. The problem is us. The us is our

Greed ,

Pride ,

Bad thoughts,

Hatred.

The power of Christ comes when we die to yourself

The BIBLE says GOD loves a Sinner, but hates SIN.

What is the DNA Code present in our lives?

Is the blood of Jesus running in your life or that of Satan (i.e. Fighting, Quarrelling, Sin) .
In Exodus, the plague of first born Son could not affect the houses where the Blood of the Lamb is applied on the door post.
The Blood of Jesus can heal us and by his stripes we are healed. There is power in the name of Jesus and the Word of GOD.
The Blood of Jesus can change our DNA and lives.

Making Wise & Right Choices

Pastor Premnath preached about how to make wise choices in life so that we won't ultimately regret our decisions.

The choices which greatly effect our lives are:

CHOOSING JESUS - Those who are heavy laden will find rest in Him. Read Matthew 11:28-30 & Matthew 28:18-20.
CHOOSING A CAREER - it is important to have vision & passion in the career you choose. It is equally important that money is not the key factor in your choice; put God first.
CHOOSING A MATE - a wrong choice here means you suffer for life - Proverbs 12:4. And if you have children, they too will suffer the consequences.
CHOOSING YOUR FRIENDS - make sure they are of good character and will not lead you astray. Proverbs 12:26.
CHOOSING WHERE TO LIVE - Genesis 13:11-12; Lot chose the wrong location to settle his family. The land of Sodom looked good, however the people in it were rotten. They were destroyed by God. As a consequence, Lot lost everything. When choosing where to live, make sure you consider the location, whether you can afford it and whether it will help/hinder your service to God.

Suggestions to help you make life's important decisions and how to respond when you make the wrong choice:

Ask God for wisdom - James 1:5-8
Ask others for advice - Proverbs 11:14 & 12:13
Commit your choices to God & ask Him what he desires for you to do because every perfect gift comes from God!!
Learn from the mistakes of others

Evangelism - Our Great Commision

Evangelism was the greatest instruction Jesus left us with. See Matthew 28…

In a church, the following things must happen for the church to exist:
1. Edification – augmenting our love for God and equipping believers.
2. Benevolence – love for fellow believers and meeting their needs
3. Evangelism – love for the lost and spreading the gospel

It is through evangelism that our church grows – physically and in spirit. Without evangelism, we – our church and ourselves – will die spiritually.

How do we evangelise? The most useful way is by our lifestyle and relationships. This is way to win people without losing influence. God gives us tools to do this:
1. Message of Christ – Romans 1:16
2. Manifestation of Christ – 1 Peter 3:1,2

However, you can’t just rely on God’s tools. To be effective in "Relationship Evangelism" our own lives must be:

"An open book“

"Rated G“

"...an epistle of Christ, known and read by all men."

See 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

In addition to this, the bonds we make with the people must be made with love. Love ensures that you will input passion, concern and effort into the relationship.
In the end, evangelism motivates us to draw closer to God and makes us better Christians.

Anatomy of a Backslider

That was the title of the message Ps Premnath Samuel gave on Sunday the 31st of August. Using Jesus’ most dedicated disciple, Peter, we discovered the 5 features of a backslider. They are:
1. Pride - Mark 14:27-31; Proverbs 60:18
2. Laziness - Mark 14:32-42; Luke 21:21-24
3. Cowardice - Mark 14:54
4. Worldliness - Mark 14:54; Proverbs 6:27-29; 1 Corinthians 15:33
5. Denial - Mark 14:66-71

And so there are 5 solutions:
1. To pride, humility
2. To laziness, diligence
3. To cowardice, worship God
4. To worldliness, remember and thank God for the things he has done for you
5. To denial, repentance

Be encouraged that even the strongest disciples in Christ can backslide. However, we must recognise the signs of backsliding and act upon it. When we see that we are heading in the wrong direction, we must make sure we are humble, diligent, grateful and repentant. Then our forgiving God will welcome us back with open arms.

After our usual exciting dose of praise and worship, we had a Guest Speaker Pr. Victor Krarthma from YWAM (Youth With a Mission). His sermon, entitled "Enemies of the cross Vs citizens of heaven" was about living for eternal treasures, not for treasures on earth. The things you do now will effect where you end up. For instance, if you live to eat (like Esau Heb 12:16) or find glory in shameful things (Matt 16:26) you're not going to be dining with Jesus for eternity... Instead, eat to live and don't live on bread alone - you need spiritual food as well. Find glory in living and loving as Jesus did. What's the point in filling your life with things that you can't keep forever?

Second Aniversary Celebration

Peace Tabernacle recently celebrated its second birthday on Sunday the 10th of August 2008! We spent a couple of hours celebrating, worshipping God, dancing, hearing the word of God and eating (of course!).

The music, as always, was masterfully provided by our worship team consisting of Levy on the keys, Rajesh & Sendil on the drum pads, Khay on the guitar and the choir (Vinpaul, Reny, Delivia, Anitha, Jerrypaul & Preneeth).

The dancing was performed by two groups - the cherubic kids (who did an awesome dance to Hillsong's "One Way, Jesus") and the youth (who danced as David danced).

The inspiring word was provided by Ps. Dilan Lamb, a pastor, musician & music producer from Sri Lanka.

People and milestones were also celebrated. We recognised those who have made this service possible by giving them a small token of our appreciation. This included Rev Vincent, Pastor Premnath, Sis Priya, the musicians, our sound system & DLP people and ushers.
